... opens a dialog that lets you navigate to the plugin-INF

you want to import into the text box for modification.

Example: XnView.inf.

Select the path to the file

that the shortcut should start (here: XnView.exe).

If the program is started via a CMD (loader), point it to that file.

The next optional field ("Use this for Icon") allows you to display the icon of the main-EXE in such a case. 

At this stage you will get a preview of what your shortcut will look like.

Here you can also change the name.

Specify the shortcut(s) you want.

You can also specify a subgroup name: Start Menu -> Programs -> Your_Sub

Compile the shortcut(s)

based on the entries you made.

This is added to the textfield -->

Apply your modifications

to the plugin INF.

NOTE:

The premium mode of ShortCutCreator has a slightly different GUI

... but the above principle usage is just the same.

It also has an addl. tab for advanced users to use it as a plugin editor.
